ATELIER Playa Mujeres, the “All-Suites Luxury Resort” operated by ADH, ATELIER de Hoteles, the Mexican hotel group that is recognized for its innovative concept of Handcrafted Hospitality®, announces that during the entire month of November during 2021, they will be hosting the ÁNIMA Festival.

One of the central themes of the program for the 2nd edition of the ÁNIMA Festival is the “Sym-Ballein” Exposition presented by Obra Negra, an art business that promotes the work of emerging artists. This spectacle will be open to the general public and free of charge from November 4th to 11th between the hours of 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm. The term Sym-Ballein spawns from Ancient Greek and represents symbolic connection and is attributed to the action of reuniting, putting together, and joining.

“At ADH, we are proud to once again host the ÁNIMA Festival at ATELIER Playa Mujeres to further preserve the rich traditions of Mexico through a program of activities inspired by the classic celebration of the Day of the Dead. This year´s ÁNIMA activities,  based on a combination of both contemporary and popular Mexican art, will awaken the curiosity of guests, add value to our clients and their experience, and generate high-level commercial benefits,” stated Oliver Reinhart, CEO of ATELIER de Hoteles.

That being said, the Cancun public is privileged in the sense that they have the opportunity to enjoy the multifaceted “Sym-Ballein” exposition, which will feature the works of artists such as Ana Paula Chirino, Andrés Salcedo, Carlos Sandoval, Diego Calderón, Isabella Russo, Karen Askenazi, Marcelo Borbolla, and Marisa Drexel. The themes and techniques of these artists will pleasantly surprise the senses of those who decide to visit during the exposition. This select group of young emerging artists will be presenting elaborate pieces made with organic materials like raw cloth, metal, and concrete.

“For the ADH family, especially those at ATELIER Playa Mujeres, it is an honor for us to host the ÁNIMA festival and the “Sym-Ballein” exposition in collaboration with Obra Negra, to offer our guests and the general public a selection of cultural delights that include components that are innovative, culturally fun, and inspired by rich traditions like the preserved celebrations and rituals of Day of the Dead. I am particularly pleased that our luxurious resort presents one of the best expositions of emerging artists in Cancun and Playa Mujeres,” commented Mascia Nadin, Director of Operations at ATELIER de Hoteles.

Through projects like the ÁNIMA festival, ATELIER de Hoteles seeks to preserve and share the beauty of Mexican traditions with guests, Arteleros, and the local community of the operating resort properties. The activities and attractions of ÁNIMA that will be available for the enjoyment of guests staying at ATELIER Playa Mujeres will also include a floating altar, a representation of the Hanal Pixan ceremony, the “Animarte” and “Path of the Souls” artistic workshops, the “Until Death Sings” musical spectacle, the  “Path to Xibalbá,” “Mexico and its Traditions”, and “Fire and Spirits of Xibalbá” shows, and “Coco,” the major motion picture will also be projected.

Organizing events of this kind is a means of promoting cultural tourism while also generating a positive economic impact, directly and indirectly, for the destination that essentially prioritizes “The art of being Mexican, which is an important characteristic of one of ATELIER de Hoteles´ principle philosophical pillars, their innovative concept of Handcrafted Hospitality®.

It is worth mentioning that the scheduled activities will be held in person on the resort premises and all of them will adhere strictly to the health protocols and procedures of ATELIER de Hoteles Shielded Vacations Program. This will also ensure that all the outdoor activities that take place at ATELIER Playa Mujeres will be utilizing all corresponding sanitary filters to ensure the safety and health of all people present.
